Cranial Adjusting

The bones of the skull are called cranial bones.  When you are a child they are soft.  In fact you have probably heard of the soft spots on the head of infants.  They are called fontanelles.  It's where the bones haven't grown together yet.

The bones of the skull come together like gears amd they actually move.  They expand and contract when you breathe.  This helps pump the spinal fluid around the spinal cord.  In fact the lining of the skull also covers the spinal cord.charlotte cranial adjusting

Misalignments of the cranial bones can put tension on the lining that is attached to it.  Yes our charlotte chiropractic office does adjust cranial bones using pressure instead of a thrust because they are designed differently.  So no, there is no popping sound.

Some of the symptoms are weakness in neck muscles, headaches, head pain, problems with cranial nerves (such as facial muscle changes), head tilt to one side (changes in posture), problems with equilibrium and problems with muscles throughout the body.

Skull problems and head pain can be the result of auto accidents or head trauma from traumatic brain injuries.  Often a person may hit their head on an object from a fall or into a windshield or dashboard during a car accident.
